Flaccid: The RestoreX™ should be used when the penis is flaccid while the curvature measurement is made with an erect penis.
There is no problem using RestoreX™ during the acute phase and this is probably the time
that its action is the most effective. You can consult the clinical study validating this use by clicking here
Yes, RestoreX is effective for hourglass penises. In this case, only axial traction will be used.
The short duration of daily treatment and the low permanence of use over time are due
to several factors:
- Unlike other traction therapy devices that use simple axial traction, the RestoreX™ counteracts penile angulation by tilting the head of the device.
- The RestoreX™ generates more traction force than any other device; most traction therapy devices only provide 0.5 to 1 kg of traction force. The RestoreX™ is capable of producing 2.5 to 3 kg of force in straightness and 4.5 to 5 kg in counter-curvature without pain.
Here are our recommendations to solve this problem:
- Make sure the clamp is tight enough to hold the end of the penis securely.
The tightening should not cause pain, knowing that it is normal to feel pressure on the glans. - It is necessary to wrap the glans with the self-adhesive bandage supplied with the device.
This helps both to make the pressure more bearable and to prevent the penis from slipping. - It is also necessary to apply the cotton pad to the duckbill support.
- You can also wrap the top of the clamp with this same self-adhesive bandage.
- The “Avoiding slipping” video on our site details these different precautions to take for good performance of RestoreX™.
- There is also a short “breaking-in” period (1 to 2 weeks) during which the physiology adapts to the pressure exerted.
This normalizes over time as the skin gradually regenerates; it is the same phenomenon when, after several gardening sessions, you notice calluses on your hands. - Due to the pressure, it is normal for the glans to become a little blue and cold when the clamp is closed.
This is not detrimental to the vascularization of the penis. - No significant adverse events, even transient, including a change in color or sensation of the glans were reported in the clinical study involving 110 patients.
A fortiori, there was no injury or pain to the penis that would have led to the reporting of an "adverse event". - When this procedure is done correctly, we find that 100% of our customers who have raised this docking issue are able to use the RestoreX™ correctly.
Degrees measure the reduction in curvature on a geometric level while the percentage indicates the improvement compared to the initial situation.
For example, if a person has a 100° curve that improves by 60°, they see a 40° improvement and also a 40% improvement. But if another person reduces the curve from 40° to 20°, they will have a 20° improvement but a 50% improvement over the original curve.
We report both values because it helps to better understand the true extent of the improvement.
According to the reference clinical study with control group, the reduction in curvature at 3 months is 17.2°, or 28% improvement, which represents a considerable change.
According to clinical studies, no difference in results has been observed between the different directions of curvature, knowing that dorsal (ascending) curvature are those which have been most evaluated.
In the clinical study conducted at the Mayo Clinic, the group of men whose curvature was located 3 inches or more from the tip of the penis (i.e., near the base of the shaft) saw an average improvement in curvature of 18 degrees.
It should be noted that this improvement is not different from that observed
on the group of men with curvatures in the middle or at the end of the penis.
This statistical data suggests that RestoreX™ can be used effectively regardless of the location of the curvature.
Yes, RestoreX™ can be used by uncircumcised men.
To use, retract the foreskin and use the self-adhesive bandage provided to hold the uncovered glans on the duckbill support.
Many doctors believe that a traction therapy device such as RestoreX™ may be able to treat birth defects.
However, the manufacturer, PathRight Medical, cannot recommend the use of RestoreX™ because no prospective clinical studies have been conducted in such a group of patients.
Clinical evaluations of RestoreX™ have shown that the curve correction is virtually permanent.
If you notice a return of symptoms, we recommend that you use RestoreX™ again 2 times per week for 30 to 60 minutes per session and consult a Urologist.
RestoreX™ can be used with other treatments but its effectiveness has been shown without association with other therapies.
Several studies have been published with a combination of traction therapy with other medications (Xiaflex, intralesional injections of Verapamil/Interferon) or surgery.
No, there is no benefit to using the device for more than one hour per day.
This was confirmed in a clinical trial conducted at the Mayo Clinic.
There is no limit regarding the curvature of the penis.
We have recorded patients whose penis had an angulation of more than 150 degrees.
In cases where the length of the penis is not sufficient for counter-curving, we recommend using the device only in the straight position.
Over time and as the penis gets longer, you may be able to begin to angle the device to achieve a counter-curvature.
You need to make sure that you pull the skin through the pelvic ring enough to ensure that it is not tight when the RestoreX™ is tensioned.
It is necessary to lengthen it sufficiently before triggering the counter-curvature mechanism.
Yes, it is entirely possible to counter-curve as close as possible to the base of the penis.
In such a case, we recommend counter-curving in position 1 or 2 only and placing a roll of gauze between the penis and the device in order to create a sufficiently long arc, the aim being to feel the penis stretch at the curvature.
In fact, there are many studies related to RestoreX™, several of which are ongoing.
There are also others in the context of combination therapies.
Most of these can be found on the American Urological Association website
RestoreX™ is effective in lengthening the penis in cases of narrowing following radical prostatectomy and the evidence of its action is visible in the 2 specific clinical studies on our website.
No, the RestoreX™ is the only medical traction therapy device whose effectiveness, without any other associated therapy, has been proven by prospective randomized clinical studies that you will find on this page.
However, it is also used before or after penis surgery and, in this case, we see that the results are better, especially regarding the recovery of length as well as the improvement of erectile function.
Technically it's 7cm, although it's a bit tricky to attach the rod in these cases.
With really small penises we recommend taking the clamp out of the housing and tilting it upwards.
This way, you will be able to fix the glans in the clamp and then put it back on the case.
